OPIC & GE finance clean cookstove project in East Africa

The Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) and the US Government’s development finance institution is partnering with GE to take strides in progressing the cause of clean cookstoves in East Africa. An amount of US$4 million will be used by BURN Manufacturing Co. (BMC), the project’s US sponsor to set up clean cookstove manufacturing units in Kenya, and assembly plants in Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda. Read more here.
