Plant With Purpose clean cookstoves – how and why to involve the community
According to the Global Burden of Disease Study, some 3.5 million people die annually due to smoke from inefficient kerosene and biomass cookstoves. Plant With Purpose is a nonprofit which manufactures clean cookstoves which reduce use of wood by 50 per cent and significantly reduce the smoke produced. Some women in Tanzania even noticed their husbands join them in the kitchen. Read more here.
