Solar power reaches 100,000 in rural India

A UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) US$1.5 million initiative has helped light the lives of as many as 100,000 rural Indians living in darkness. Their pilot project helped this target population access electricity through solar means. Large scale success from this pilot has sparked similar projects in Algeria, China, Ghana, Indonesia and more. Read more here.
