Survey finds adaptation to climate change among smallholders farmers in East Africa taking root

A study by CGIAR Research Programme on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS), one year after one of the worst droughts in East Africa is 60 years has found that smallholder farmers across East Africa have begun to embrace more climate friendly farming methods and technologies. The study took into account about 700 farming households in East Africa, and a combined 5,040 households in 252 villages across 36 sites in 12 countries in East Africa, West Africa and South Asia.
