Tackling sanitation in Cambodia to reduce child mortality

To tackle the problem of sanitation in the rural areas of Cambodia and Vietnam, the Bill and Melinda Gates’ Foundation is granting the East Meets West Foundation a sum of US$10.9 million. It is estimated that 17,000 deaths occur in per year in Cambodia and Vietnam due to open defecation and unsafe disposal of human waste. Read more here and here.
