The Himalayan Stove Project: How cookstoves can change the world

According to founder of the Himalayan Stove Project, George Basch, the initiative was borne out of his in depth understanding of the environmental and socio-economic issues of the region. Their stoves, which implement superior designs, and use only 20 per cent of wood to cook the same as traditional cooking, are sold for US$5, instead of their actual cost of US$125. Read more here.
