Brazil has implemented its MCMV (Minha Casa Minha Vida – My House My Life) scheme which has helped many low income earners secure their own houses – houses which are of a superiority quality. Subsidies to mortgages are provided in proportion to the level of poverty. The funding comes from a workers’ compensation scheme and the federal budget. Read more here.
