The Republicans have insisted that about poor   American families, mostly those with children be made to pay for their foods,   as the House cancelled about US$16.5 billion worth of food stamps. The food   stamps, or the Supplement Nutrition Assistance Programme (SNAP) was the only   way three million poor American families could access food. Read more here.
