Vietnam: 11,000 housing units built in Dong Thap, but housing needs still unaddressed in the country

Under a 3-year programme to offer housing for the poor and underserved by the Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, about 11,000 housing units, worth US$14 million have been built in the province of Dong Thap. However, according to Dr Duong Chi Thien, head of the Viet Nam Institute of Sociology’s Urban Sociology Department, while houses are being made, the people with real need are yet to find a way to access these houses.
